I Now Have Coverage!

Well folks, my parents love me so much that I now have
health and accident insurance.
It's like Medicare for dogs, but not as comprehensive and not as cheap.
Hum, I wonder if they really do love me?
Just kidding! I love you too Mama and Papa!

(Stay tuned, this drawing is the basis for a pop-up card featuring yours truly!)

Inter-Species Big Brother

I love little humans. They always smell yummy.
Probably because they always have food on them that I can lick.
That is besides the point. The point is that my servants are
going to have a little human. And I am going to be an inter-species big brother!!!

They have 3 names picked out: Maximilien, Xavier and Felix.
I suggested Rex; it used to be my old name before I became Genghis.
And it follows the pattern of having an "X" in the name.
Well, my parents said no to Rex. I am outraged!!!

I am therefore polling my audience (there's what, 4 of you?)
to know what name you like best.
Results will be posted on Monday, February 5.

Scroll Down and VOTE REX!!!

My inter-species little brother's name should be...?
Rex
Xavier
Maximilien

My Namesake - Part 2 - Genghis

As promised at Part 1, here is a little info on my namesake.
As you all know, my name is Genghis.
I was named for Genghis Khan (1162–1227),
leader and unifier of the Mongolian people.

He was born Temujin and was the founder, Khan (ruler)
and posthumously declared Khagan (emperor) of the
Mongol Empire, the largest contiguous empire in history.

Temujin came to power by uniting many of the nomadic
tribes of north-east Asia. After founding the Mongol
Nation and being proclaimed "Genghis Khan", he pursued
an aggressive foreign policy by starting the Mongol
invasion of East Asia and Central Asia. During his life,
the Mongol Empire eventually occupied most of Asia.

Temujin died of unknown causes in 1227 after a campaign
to subjugate the Xi Xia and Jin dynasties in China. He
was buried in an unmarked grave somewhere in his native
Mongolia. His descendants went on to stretch the Mongol
Empire across most of Eurasia, conquering all of modern-
day China and Mongolia, as well as substantial portions
of modern Russia, southern Asia, Eastern Europe and the
Middle East.

That being said, that is little consolation for the ones
who were brutally killed by Genghis Khan and his Horde.

Welcome To My Winter Wonderland!

Welcome to my neighborhood.
It snowed a few days ago and there was alot of it!
I love the snow, but I hate the cold.

This is my little trail system.

Here is my neighborhood. You can barely see my driveway, where I howl, and howl and howl, until my servants get me when I am cold.

These are some of my friends. I feel bad seeing that they are always free; I am never free. I guess my servants keep me tied up so I don't get lost or run away. It's 'cause they love me. Who wouldn't?!?!

And here I am, enjoying the warm fire with my servant.

My Namesake - Part 1 - Rex

As some of you might not know, my original name was Rex.
My current parents/servants changed my name when they adopted me.
Rex is a cool name, although I do prefer Genghis. But I digress.
Here is a little history of my original name.

Rex: "Rex" is Latin for "King".
Originally, the term was associated with the
King of the Roman Kingdom (753 BC – 510 BC).

The supreme power of the state of Rome was
vested in the Rex, whose position made him the:

1) Head of Government - served as the chief executive with
the power to enforce the laws, managed all state owned property,
disposed of conquered territory, and oversaw all public works.

2) Commander in Chief - commander of the Roman military with the
sole power to levy and organized the legions, to appoint military
leaders, and to conduct wars.

3) Head of State - served as the chief representative of Rome in
its relations with foreign powers and received all foreign ambassadors.

4) Chief Priest - served as official representative of Rome and
her people before the Roman gods with the power of general
administrative control over the Roman religion.

5) Chief Legislator - formulated and proposed legislative proposals
as he deemed necessary.

6) Chief Judge - adjudicated all civil and criminal cases.

Ah, absolute power...I wish I had that power...I would never go hungry again!

My Namesake - Part 2 - Genghis Khan, coming soon.

PS-And of those who pay attention to history, I know, I know, Veni, Vidi, Vici
was "phrased" much later.
